It has been awhile.... several rooms done

We have now been in our home for over two months and we are very happy! I got most of the painting I plant to do done except for the master bedroom.  Here is what I have done so far and some fall decorations!.. I do not know why but all my images turn out dark for some reason.

Could not have been happier with how the house turned out. The only thing I would have done differently is adding a window in the dining room.

Landscaping and exterior trim

The siding was completed this week on the house. The grey wold have been my last choice but we did not have a choice because of the houses around us. The trim on the front of the house was also completed except for a few shutters, they have to move the front lights. The door was painted black and looks great! The landscaping was done in one day. I am thrilled with the choices they made. We also had a parking pad put in and a cement block for the shed. The interior is done it just needs to be cleaned so I will be posting a lot of interior picks from our walk-through on Thursday. We closed on our existing home this week and close on the new house Thursday afternoon and move on Saturday.

countdown is 2 weeks

We should be moving two weeks from today. Our final walk through is Aug. 14. This week they installed the carpeting which looks darker in the photos than it is, the water fixtures, which I am glad we chose the brown, and the stone fireplace. The driveway and sidewalks have been put in as well. They are siding the house and have it half way done. Next week they repaint and finish the trim work and seed the lawn. I am happy with all the choices we made but I wish we had put some windows on the living/dining room side of the hose for more light.

cornice window boxes

I followed the instructions for building cornices from a fellow blogger and these are for the family room and I have one done for the morning room so far. (stripes). I am not very handy but I think they turned out ok!

Cabinets, flooring, lighting and brick front

It has been a busy week. The cabinets are in, the hardwood flooring is in for the foyer, kitchen and morning room and the vinyl flooring is in the guest bath and laundry room. The master bathroom is tiled as well. They also installed the granite countertops. All the trim is done in the house and ready to be painted. The staircase is almost done. The brick is now done on the front. The shutters and siding and trim will be done next week. The fixtures and glass door on the shower will be next week and the stone fireplace. The carpet is due to go in Aug. 1. The house will basically be done in one week leaving landscaping. The concrete driveway and sidewalk will be poured next week as well. The lighting is also complete now.
